Morgan Bouldes

Morgan Bouldes is a conceptual Detroit based visual artist, writer and storyteller. Having first picked up the camera as a teenager, Bouldes quickly discovered that the lens was a part of her divine purpose. She obtained her BFA with a concentration in photography from Wayne State University and is currently studying at The Cranbrook Academy of Art to receive her MFA.

In her practice, she studies human experiences as pieces to a greater divine whole. After the passing of her mother and artist Inger Bouldes, (03/01/70- 03/01/2017), she began to rebuild herself through her art practice by exploring themes of memory, grief, Black Womanhood and self-image. Her interdisciplinary practices include photography, charcoal drawing, oil painting, sculpture, creative direction and performance poetry.
